Prophet TB Joshua a name too powerful, is so popular on the lips of everyone around the world. If you know God and truly believe in the things of the Spirit, then late TB Joshua is one man you should learn a lot from.
Renowned religious leader T.B. Joshua, a wealthy megachurch pastor who gained notoriety as a “great man of God,” passed away in June 2021, leaving behind a sizable number of grieving followers in Africa and around the world. Here’s a picture of the man who performed the miracles.
1. An Interesting Backstory: T. B. Joshua was born on June 12, 1963, in the small village of Arigidi, halfway between Lagos and Abuja. His biography states that his mother carried a 15-month pregnancy to term.
It also mentions that when he was only a few days old, a big boulder crashed through the roof of his home, narrowly missing the infant. As a result, his mother gave him the Yorùbá name Temitope, which means, “What you [God] have done for me is worthy of thanks.”

Joshua led the Student Christian Fellowship at St. Stephen’s Anglican Primary School during his elementary education. This earned him the nickname “small pastor,” which was a play on his diminutive stature and a precursor to things to come. Because of his poverty, Joshua was unable to complete his secondary education and instead took on various menial jobs.
However, he later claimed to have received a divine anointing in a heavenly vision and a covenant from God to begin his ministry, leading him to found Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) at the age of 24 along with eight other people. Prophet TB Joshua a name too powerful
2. He Zealously Promoted Healing: T. B. Joshua promised miracles, especially divine healing and occasionally economic prosperity, and he played a major role in the growth of the Pentecostal movement in Africa.
The movement is primarily motivated by people’s belief in the healing and transformative power of the Holy Spirit. SCOAN has published numerous videos documenting the healing of various illnesses, disabilities, and injuries, many of which were claimed to be medically incurable, such as HIV/AIDS and blindness.
In addition to its reputation for deliverance ministries and services—many strange occurrences were reported during the preacher’s deliverance prayers for those possessed by evil spirits—SCOAN was also known for its anointing water, which was sold by the gallon and advertised through countless testimonials, promising astonishing successes. 3. Emmanuel TV: A Worldwide Powerhouse In 2004, the Nigerian National Broadcasting Commission outlawed the transmission of pastors’ miracles on terrestrial television due to the controversy surrounding them.
Unknowingly, this move may have done more than any other to enhance T. B. Joshua’s reputation worldwide. “He was maybe the first [African pastor] to use the internet and satellite broadcast to market his ministry to a worldwide audience,” notes Abimbola Adelakun, an assistant professor in th
After Emmanuel TV was launched in 2006, T. B. Joshua became a televangelist sensation with the slogan “distance is not a barrier,” which encouraged viewers from Africa, Latin America, and beyond to “touch the screen and pray along.” He also had over 1.8 million subscribers on YouTube, which was suspended in April 2021 due to alleged hate speech against homosexuality. Without a doubt, this self-made prophet lived up to the moniker “Oprah of Evangelism” given by media outlets. Prophet TB Joshua a name too powerful
4. T. B. Joshua was World Famous According to statistics released by the Nigerian Immigration Services, six out of ten foreign visitors entering the nation were bound for SCOAN. T. B. Joshua’s services drew over 15,000 people each week, both from Nigeria and abroad. Some have referred to his church as “Nigeria’s biggest tourist attraction.”
Along with his frequent interactions with politicians, international sports figures, and the affluent and famous, he was estimated by Forbes to have been worth several million dollars at the time of his death. Prophet TB Joshua a name too powerful

Joshua’s admirers were won over by his humanitarian awards, the most notable of which came in 2008 when the Nigerian government named him an Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic. SCOAN’s scholarship programme supports thousands of students’ academic needs from primary through tertiary education, having sponsored students through Oxford and Harvard.

6. He was Rejected by Mainstream Nigerian Christian Organisations: In the early 2000s, when there was talk that Joshua wanted to join the PFN, Vice Chairman Bishop Abraham Olaleye said, “There are only two questions Ayo Oritsejafor [then President of the PFN] asked us to ask Joshua or anybody who comes from him:
When were you born again? Which church did he attend and who was his pastor or mentor?” Pastor Abraham Olaleye was one of the organisations that denied SCOAN membership.
In a similar vein, prosperity preacher Matthew Ashimolowo, who founded Kingsway International Christian Centre in London, said of T. B. Joshua, “We do not know Joshua’s Pastor; we don’t know where he was raised from. He has no testimony from where he got born again. So, we cannot accept that he is one of us…
There is no proof of his salvation.” Paul Adefarasin, founder of House of the Rock, Lagos, once said of T. B. Joshua, “Where was he when he was called to ministry? Who are the men of God who can point at him, that we raised him into ministry, laid hands on him and sent him forth into the ministry?” Prophet TB Joshua a name too powerful
7. He Frequently Asserted That He Had Predicted World Events SCOAN frequently disseminated videos purporting to show T. B. Joshua as having predicted a significant world event ahead of time; examples of such events include the passing of Michael Jackson, the London Riots, and numerous plane crashes.
Perhaps the most well-known of his predictions was that Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 presidential election. Prophet TB Joshua a name too powerful
When that prophecy failed to materialise, SCOAN removed it from their website. After the prophecy was covered by major African publications (see here, here, here, and here), the BBC, CNN, and other international press, SCOAN reposted the prophecy, stating that it was “mistakenly removed and has been reposted as such is not our policy” (as reported by the BBC).
8. He Was No Stranger To Controversy T. B. Joshua’s fame was always in jeopardy due to controversy. He was criticised heavily for supporting practices that were “more akin to paganism and magic than Christianity,” and many saw his teachings and practices as heretical. Criticism did not just come from the African Church, however; his recent claims that he could “cure” the LGBTQ+ community sparked a fierce backlash on a global scale. T. B. Joshua became well-known in other ways as well. Four of the SCOAN building structures collapsed; one of those tragic collapses occurred in 2014 and claimed 116 lives. The pastor claimed that a low-flying plane and Boko Haram militants were to blame, but authorities maintain that structural defects were to blame. Prophet TB Joshua A Name Too Powerful
Additionally, four people died in a stampede for his holy water. While some of his prophecies and predictions appeared to be fulfilled, others fell short. Prophet TB Joshua a name too powerful
9. He May Have Died from a Stroke T. B. Joshua was a fervent supporter of supernatural healing, but according to media reports, he passed away from complications following a stroke and was transported by air ambulance to Turkey for treatment two months prior to his death. His church never made any mention of this or provided an explanation for his untimely death at the age of 58.

T. B. Joshua is well known for having said, “The greatest way to use life is to spend it on something that will outlive it.” His charitable endeavours will leave a lasting legacy, and his influence on people’s lives will not be quickly forgotten.

However, it is possible that by emphasising this life so much—health and miracles to make it easier—he diverted attention from Jesus, the great provider of eternal life?
