Mrs Silifat Aborishade, whose husband, Adeniyi Aborishade, died of gunshot injuries, during a recent meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, has urged the police to withdraw murder charges against the chieftains of the political party.
Aborishade, who was the Chairman of the PDP, Apapa chapter, was reportedly shot in the leg on July 21, 2018, during a meeting of the PDP at Igbosuku, Lekki Phase 2.
He was said to have been rushed to the First Consultant Medical Centre, Ikoyi Road, Obalende, where he died.
The police had on July 25 arraigned the Lagos State PDP Chairman, Moshood Salvador, and 10 others on two counts of conspiracy and unlawful killing before the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba.
According to the police, the mayhem, which led to Aborishade’s death, resulted from a fight between the loyalists of Salvador and those of Kehinde Fasasi.

The prosecution said Salvador and others were liable to be punished under Sections 233 and 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
But the politicians pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The magistrate, Mr Oyetade Komolafe, while adjourning the case till August 27, 2018, to await the advice of the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions, ordered that the defendants should be remanded in the prison custody.
Those charged along with Salvador were Kehinde Fasasi, Rotimi Kujore, Fatai Adele, Ismaila Abiola, Amos Fawole, Victoria Falowo, Mukaila Odukoya, Oropo Isaac, Mohammed Babangida and Ugochukwu Nwoke.
However, in a letter dated July 30, the deceased’s wife, Olabisi, urged the police to withdraw charges against five of the defendants, who, according to her, were innocent.
The five, who were charged as the 2nd to 6th defendants, are Dr Amose Fawole, Kehinde Fasasi, Rotimi Kujore, Fatai Adele and Ismaila Abiola.
The wife of the slain politician said she was shocked to hear that the five men were charged by the police when they were actually complainants in the case.
According to the widow, the five men were the ones who rushed her husband to the hospital after being shot and also reported the case to the police.
